Support Groups

“FINDING YOUR GROOVE” (formerly “Managing Your Life”) is a structured support/education group for adults living with mental health issues who want to develop their coping skills, increase their self-awareness, identify their values, set realistic goals, make better decisions, improve their quality of life, and gain a better sense of agency and purpose. The group meets Wednesdays (1:00 to 2:00 p.m.) at 202 Brooks, Room 208; it’s free and confidential, and no registration is required. Please call 880-1013 if you have any questions.

Our popular “NAMI Crafts” group meets Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:30 at 202 Brooks Street, Room 210.  The group is free and open to adults with mental illness; we provide the materials and the space to work, and attendees provide the energy and enthusiasm! No registration is necessary; just show up and join in the fun.

(Please note: this group will not meet during the month of August, 2018. It will resume on Thursday, September 6. Those looking for support in the meantime should attend our Thursday morning open meeting at the Providence Center (Room 103), from 10 a.m. to noon; or call us at 880-1013.)

Our free, confidential “Family Support & Education” group is for relatives, friends, and caregivers of individuals living with mental illness. The group meets Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at 202 Brooks, Room 208. Designed to provide education and information as well as support, this group will occasionally bring in guest speakers to discuss local resources and relevant issues. No registration is necessary; please call us at 880-1013 if you would like further information.

Open Meeting: For years NAMI Missoula has offered a free open meeting on Thursday mornings–all are welcome to attend: individuals with mental illness, family members, friends, or anyone interested in learning about NAMI.  The group meets Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon in the basement of the Providence Center (Room 103 unless otherwise posted).

NAMI Connection is a free and confidential weekly support group for adults with mental illness; it meets Thursdays from 1:30- 3:00 at the NAMI Missoula office, 202 Brooks, Room 212 (St. Paul Lutheran Church; look for the NAMI sign on the courtyard door and enter there).  Note: this group is only for adults with mental illness–family members and friends of such persons are welcome to attend the groups designated for them (Family Support and our weekly open meeting).
